My approach is holistic and practical. Each session is framed with purpose and confidentiality and draws on training that spans studies from around the world over the last dozen years. I am passionate about learning from the “old ways” of seeing, and applying these ways effectively in our modern times. My practice is to be able to draw out authentic stories in narrative or non-narrative, non-linear, energy-based form. I encourage the perspective of seeing with the eyes of the heart and promote a healthy balance and flow of ”chi” so that body and mind are connected and united for change, coping and sustaining wellness.
While living in Nagoya, Japan from 1998-2000, I trained in Zen Shiatsu under Hiroshi Mishima, a direct student of Masunaga Shizuto, author of ‘Zen Shiatsu’ and ‘Zen Imagery Exercises.’ I completed two levels of Reiki in the Usui System of Natural Healing, and two levels in Healing Touch through the Colorado Center for Healing Touch in 2002. Since 2007, I have immersed in shamanic teachings imparted through the Q’ero Elders – Medicine People – of Peru and have trained and been an assisting trainer of the Incan Medicine Wheel in Squamish, BC. I am a Mastery Level Energy Healer in the Inca Shamanic Tradition and mesa carrier, trained by Jose Luis Herrera from Cusco, Peru. I have also studied the Celtic traditions with Angela Prider, Rev. Shaman. I am a Certified Career Development Practitioner, hold a BA in Human Geography and have training in Solution Focussed Counselling theory.
To live in this world you must be able to do three things. To love what is mortal; to hold it against your bones knowing your own life depends on it; and, when the time comes to let it go, to let it go. ~Mary Oliver
